Mountain Torq Sdn Bhd is at the helm this year to bring competitive sport climbing once again to the people of Sabah and Malaysia through Boulder Buster 2019.

Mountain Torq, comprising of a group of dedicated and passionate outdoor enthusiasts, was founded in 2007 and manages the world’s highest Via Ferrata at 3,776 metres a.s.l. (certified by World Guinness Records) located on a UNESCO World Heritage site – Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. The Mountain Torq team are qualified mountain climbers and educators who established South East Asia’s first mountaineering training centre.

Their mission is to bring the excitement of mountaineering activities to people of all ages, through excellent products and services, so that everyone can enjoy the great outdoors responsibly and in a safe environment.

Mountain Torq Objectives for organizing Boulder Buster:

• To spread awareness and increase interest of Sport Climbing among local youth.
• To identify new potential athletes to ultimately be able to represent the state or country to compete at the international level.
• To promote to local schools and hope that climbing will soon become a mainstream sports.
