1. Overview
  • Boulder Buster event is organised by Mountain Torq Sdn. Bhd. And the respective responsibilities and liabilities are outlined and governed by these TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
  • The competition is open to citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia.
  • Participants by Invitation from the organiser may join the event.
  • Payment of the registration fee means that you have read, agreed to and accepted our terms & conditions.
  • Participants below the age of 17 must be accompanying by parental/guardian during competition event and required to obtain parental/guardian’s consent and complete the relevant authorisation and indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 17.
  • Participants must wear the event t-shirt during the event and not allowed to make modifications of any sort of event t-shirt.
  • The organiser reserve the right to remove/disqualify any participants who disobey the competition and registration rules, insert false detail in by entering different category, late reporting at registration, rudeness or harmful to any event organizer, volunteer, audients or even damaging event property.
  • The Organiser and partner reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to sponsors anywhere in the world without any notification and/or payment to the Participants.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time as it deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. Any updates on the Terms and Conditions will be notified on the official Event’s website
2. Registration
  • Registration can only be done through Boulder Buster registration page
  • Offline and walk-in registration will not be entertained.
  • Your registration for the competition is valid upon receipt of full payment and the registration has been confirmed in writing by the organiser.
  • Registration after the closing date will not be entertained.
  • Participants are allowed to take part in more than 1 category according to the rules of registration. The fee is subjected to the category.
  • If any participant qualifies for the semi-finals in more than 1 category, the participant can only choose 1 category to compete in the semi-finals.
  • The minimum age requirement is 12 years old for ALL categories. Participants in the Junior Category must be aged between 12 – 17 years old. There is no age limit to join all other categories.
  • Boulder Buster reserves the right to alter participants category based on the participant’s past competition result record.
3. Eligibility (Based on Boulder Buster Record)

3.1 Junior Under 15 Category (First Timer)

  • Only for ages 12 to 15
  • NOT for Open category.

3.2 Junior Under 18 Category (First-Timer)

  • Only for ages 12 to 18
  • NOT for Open category.

3.3 Novice Category (Beginner)

  • Priority for first-timers or beginners
  • Age 12+
  • NOT for top 3 finalists in Novice category
  • NOT for top 3 finalists in Open category
  • NOT for National climbers

3.4 Open Category (Experienced)

  • Age 12+
  • Professional climbers, senior climbers & National climbers are welcome.

4. Payments

  • All payments shall be made by bank transfer, cash or via boost apps. Payment made after the deadline given will not be entertained.
  • The organiser will not be held liable for any additional interest or fees charged by The Participants bank during registration.
  • Participants need to walk-in to the organiser office for cash payments.
  • Participants who are students of a College or University must attach a copy of their Student ID/Pass to be eligible for the Student Rate.
  • All participants who have submitted their payments before the closure of the early bird registration window are entitled to early bird fee.
  • Payment received after early bird deadline will be pay as normal fee.
  • NO refunds will be made for incorrect or multiple registration.
  • There will be no refund once payment has been made.
5. Cancellation and changes
  • Participants will be considered a no-show if fails to turn up during the competition day.
  • Substitution and swapping of categories are NOT allowed.
  • Participants must arrive early to the competition venue on events days for sign up a waiver and release liability form at the registration counter before the competition start.
  • The organiser has the right to terminate or change participants to other categories if participants provide false information, inaccurate, not updated or incomplete information during the registration.
  • The organiser have reserve right to cancel or change date of the event at any time without prior notice to the Participant with reasonable effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event.
  • You agree and acknowledge that if the change or cancellation is due to force majeure events (including without limitation political unrest, war or threat war, riots, civil strife, closure of airports or ports, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural disasters, fire, epidemic or health risk, flood, Acts of God, adverse weather conditions or the similar events beyond the organiser control), no refund will be made by the organiser.
  • You further agree that the organiser shall not be responsible for the costs of any other travel arrangement affected due to its cancellations or rescheduling of the events.
6. Safety
  • Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participants’ safety, Participant is strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.
  • Participants are personally responsible for their own safety.
  • Participants must comply with the safety guidelines of the host venue.
  • Parental supervision – For participants under the age of 17 years old, parent or guardian must be present for the entire duration of the competition.
  • The Chief Organiser may remove competitors for safety reasons.
  • You shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, loss, damage, claim or accident (including death) resulting from your participation in the Event. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any liability, mishap, loss, damage, claim or accident (including death) in any manner whatsoever suffered by you as a result of the Event.
7. Baggage & Personal Items
  • The organiser will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage to any of the participant’s items.
  • The organiser reserves the right to open and examine any item or baggage found unattended on the event venue for security purposes.
8. Prizes
  • The Organiser reserves the right to change the prizes to other prizes of the same value at any point of time without prior notice. The prizes are non-transferable and all prizes are given on an “as is” basis and are not exchangeable for any other form, i.e. cash, goods, credit or services in part or in full. Pictures of the prizes shown in the promotional materials are for illustration purposes only. Actual prizes may differ from the pictures shown.
  • Only the top three climbers of each gender in each category will be awarded.
  • Winner must be present during the competition prize ceremony. In the event, for any reason whatsoever, any of the Winners is unable to collect the winning prize, the Organiser shall not reimburse or compensate the Winner. The Organiser shall not be obliged to give extension notice of the Prize Collection Period. All unclaimed Prizes after announcing the winner will be forfeited.
9. Certificates
  • The certificate will only be given to top 3 finalists for each of the categories.
10. Goodie Bag Collection
  • Participants are responsible to collect goodie bag and event t-shirt at registration counter 1 hour before the competition start.
  • Any issue of participant’s inability to collect Goodie Bag, late collection, or loss after goodie bag been collected will not be entertain by the organiser.
  • Substitution and exchanging of T-shirt sizes are NOT allowed after registration.
  • Goodie bag collection must be collect by participants themselves, third party have no authorise to collect behalf of participants.
11. Security Personal Information
  • Your data privacy is important to us. Please be assured that the organiser considers the privacy of your personal data a subject of utmost importance. Personal data includes but is not limited to your name, telephone number, email address, home address as well as any information you have provided.
  • Your personal information only is used for contact participants, emergency contact related to Boulder Buster event.
